Complaining

People love to complain, is part of our everyday conversation. It's juicy, it's dramatic, it's entertaining...maybe sometimes. Complain = We need someone to feel our FRUSTRATION, to understand our views and most importantly, to support what we think is right. However, are we RIGHT most of the times? Are we being too judgmental or having too much expectations on others?

There are many types of people around us. Chinese has a saying "1 type of rice can produce 10 kinds of individuals". This is a very rough translation but what it basically means is that everyone is different. We all came from different backgrounds. We grew up with different influences, cultures, religion and environments. Thus, our moral values are different, which as a result, we ended up complaining about issues that do not fit into our set out beliefs. We always say, "how could she do that?!", "That's so unreasonable!", "why, that is so unfair?!" etc. Well, I guess we are all entitled to our own opinions. But then again, it does not mean that other people share our views. We do not like some people that we knew, but we must also accept that not everyone like us the way we are.

Complaining is a way of emotional release. Yes, we do it sometimes. It's too much to contain within oneself if it is not "shared". However, too much of it can be toxic, to ourselves and to the poor fella who is lending his ears. Complaining creates negative energy and it has a domino effect. It is also a vicious cycle. We will only fall deeper into the hole if we do not make an effort to pull ourselves out. Eventually, it will make us feel worse and being more upset. So, the next time you feel like complaining, make and effort to STOP! Tell our self not to become a negative energy generator! At first, it will be difficult. It needs continuous and conscious effort to stop ourselves from complaining. But try to tell ourselves, "DON'T JUDGE". The more you practice, the easier it will become. You just need to keep trying.

Being Free

Being free is a wonderful thing. I am not talking about anything serious here but it's just being free from our everyday much hectic lives. It's great when there's no obligations, no limits, no sickness, no burdens (financial $$$) But to some extent it seem a little....no life?! When you don't have it, you crave for it. But once you have it, there's an emptiness that you feel. What's the meaning of life when you don't have any objectives? Sometimes, we need all these little stress and obligations to make us going. It gives a purpose to our living and reasons for us to wake up every morning. Yes, it's hard most of the times. Life sucks most of the times. But then again, it's because we experienced these bitterness in life that we understand the taste of sweetness and the meaning of happiness!

So, today may not be sunshine and rainbow. But it will pass eventually, and when you look back, well, it's just another day. Keep going! That's life. Smile... we have a choice to make today a better day.
